Antique Youth Smoothbore Percussion Long Gun

Antique smoothbore percussion long gun fitted with a 30" round to octagon barrel and maple stocks. This is a small rifle commonly used by young boys. The stocks appear to have been refinished. The lock is unmarked. The screws have been manipulated and may not be original to the rifle. The lock and hammer are functional but the hammer can fire when bumped indicating wear to internal parts. The barrel has a heavy brown patina and areas of old pitting near the nipple. The cracks in the butt stock are stable. The crack near the ramrod insert is delicate. Affixed to the right-hand side of the stock is a brass cutout of the state of Texas. It appears to have been added at the time the stock was refinished. The long gun comes with a more contemporary brain tanned scabberd with Native-style beading. A great wall hanger!
