(1892-1972) Watercolors; 8" x 8", pair. Framed and matted. A California artist, Long spent his childhood on a ranch in Napa where he broke wild horses. He began sketching at an early age, was an art instructor, his western illustrations were featured in Sunset Magazine and The Los Angeles Times. Having worked with horses all his life they became the main theme for his paintings. His paintings provide an extemporaneous feeling with both airiness and activity. Work exhibited in the Young Museum, Oakland Museum, Shasta City Museum, Prudential Life Insurance Co., and Grand Central Art in New York. Well-listed artist.
