Mary was a member of the Art Society known as the "Phil Ten." Was Curator of Art at the Museum of Northern Arizona in 1928. Richard Magnum wrote a biography "One Woman's West - The Life of Mary Russell Farro Colton." One often sees a print of "Annie Red Shirt" - this image is the original.
