Ted Flowers "Chief Deluxe" Parade Saddle Very showy full German silver parade saddle sat with serapes, hip drops, breast collar and bridle. Fitted corona and red and white. According to the Flowers Catalog "this outfit is the champion of the show ring." Includes 15" padded seat, 24" tapaderos, and silver overlay California bit marked "Russell/Salinas." Printed in page 1 of "Ted Flower's Parade Saddles." 15” seat Bruce Lovins Child's Parade Saddle Bruce Lovins child's parade saddle. A tooled brown parade rig made in a rare youth size. Done in a combination of German silver and monel mountings decorating the covered cantle and swells, plus diamond overlays on engraved silver plates. Includes the breast collar, serapes, hip drops and bridle. With a custom corona in red and white, 12 1/2” seat, 14” tapaderos. Leather is all excellent and appears unused. N. Porter "Parade Chief" Saddle Bruce Lovins N. Porter, Phoenix, Arizona "Parade Chief" parade saddle listed in Bruce Lovin's early 1950s catalog as the "Parade Chief". Stamped Porter & Co. Phoenix, Arizona. This imposing outfit is the “complete parade package”. Heavily adorned with silver conchos and Indian heads, plus fully silvered swells, cantle, massive breast collar, extravagant serapes, tapaderos, and even a crouper (hip drops). A parader’s dream, 14” seat, 2” cantle, 25” tapaderos. Several of the pieces (conchos and buckles) are sterling. Edward Anderson “Ted Flowers”(1914 – 1976) was a master craftsman who revolutionized the “blingy” parade saddle industry from his “The Spot Shop” workshop in Indiana. Cowboy legends such as Gene Autry and Roy Rogers landed their private planes at Alexandria’s Knott’s Airport just to visit The Spot Shop and order custom gear. Today, gear specifically engraved with “The Spot Shop Alexandria, IND” are highly coveted. They were among the few pieces he explicitly marked, making them rare “signed” masterpieces. His saddles remain the ultimate status symbol for collectors.
