"Horsepower" by Ace Powell
(1912-1978). Oil on canvas; 12" x 16". Framed 17 1/2" x 21 1/2". Signed lower right. Son of a cowboy, Powell was raised in Apgar, MT on the south side of Lake McDonald. His father was a stable boss, guide and tracker for Glacier National Park. As a boy, he watched Charles Russell paint in the Bull's Head Lodge in Apgar.
