J.M. Marlin Ballard Deluxe No. 2 Sporting Rifle

J.M. Marlin deluxe No. 2 sporting rifle. Serial #724, 26" barrel, .32RF cal. Mfg. 1876-1881. Early No. 2 sporter with 3-line frame address, deluxe checkered oil finished walnut stock, pistol grip, ebony fore-end tip, early Brown mfg. style lever, full octagon barrel with globe front sight and tang sight. Wood is fiery with triple X walnut and shotgun butt plate. Grip has ebony insert. Barrel is smooth crisp patina. Frame colors have nickeled out with exception to hidden areas where some amounts of color reside. Wood is excellent. Bore is strong and clean as is gun. Front site is refinished and butt plate is a period replacement.
