Large Cheyenne Beaded Saddle Bags

Cheyenne large beaded saddle bags. The piece shows thick Native tanned hide with a folded over section allowing for an internal bag on the inside of each side. The fronts of both sides have thread sewn glass trade seed beads from the early 1900s in a classic Cheyenne geometric pattern done in corn yellow, red, blue and faceted iridescent. The beadwork borders the entire outside edge with intregral thick hand cut fringes on one side. The bottom shows thick wide long artful fringes and metal trade bells. The bags show hide lacing sewing and are well preserved. Has a "patched" bullet hole. 110" L x 13 1/2"W
