Large Navajo sterling silver and Kingman turquoise eagle kachina bolo tie by Avin Joe. A total of six exceptional quality, natural and untreated turquoise stones, two coral beads for eyes, three coral beads on side, detailed sterling silver attire with sterling dangle legs. Signed by Navajo Silversmith Avin Joe and stamped sterling. Comes on thick braided cord. 7" x 3", Overall 45" Avin Joe was born on the Navajo Reservation, where he spent most of his life. His great uncle Kenneth Begay, taught Avin's father Phillip Joe to silversmith. Avin learned the basics through observation. During the next several years, Avin worked with various metals exclusively in silver, perfecting his skills, to become a master silversmith, building top quality pieces featured in the finest galleries, museums and collections around the world. Avin believes his feelings, traditions, culture and beliefs go into each piece.
