Navajo Ganado runner by Shirley Joe, Weaver. Shirley is also one of five sisters who are all incidentally named Beth who live in the Chinle area. They were taught to weave by their mother. Shirley was about 40 years old when she wove this weaving in 1993 and has been weaving all her life. She is especially well known for weaving large Ganado style rugs in the butterfly (sometimes called snowflake) pattern. Tapestry quality. Purchased at the Deer Dancer Gallery in 1993 for $3900. 28" x 56"
