Nez Perce artist. Acrylic on board; 16" x 20". Chief White Bird of the Lamnthanah band of the Salmon River county was one of the principle instigators of the War of 1877. He escaped to Canada with some of his warriors staying at Sitting Bull's camp. Years later he was killed by Hasenahmakikt (another Nez Perce) because his medicine failed to save Hasenahmakikt's daughter.
