Sauk-Fox birchbark canoe made in the spring of 1885 near Black River Falls, Wisconsin. Sold by the Sauk-Fox to a Mr. Burkegt of Boyd, Wisconsin in 1887. Mr. Burkegt sold it to Mr. Carl D. Bates of Bruce, Wisconsin in 1911. Carl stored it in the attic of his barn until August 1976 when he sold it to Harry Orloske for his private museum. With seats and floor this one was a "work horse". 5'6"L, 3'W x 2'H
