Winchester Model 1873 Rifle

2nd model Winchester 1873 rifle. .38-40 caliber, 24" octagonal barrel, S/N 237274B (mfg. ca1887). Blued finish, smooth straight gripped walnut stock with crescent buttplate and smooth forearm. Standard markings, elevation adjustable buckhorn rear sight, dovetailed German silver blade front sight. Butt trap void of cleaning rods. Metal is moderately oxidized with a dark brown patina. Markings remain legible, mechanically functional, bore good with moderate amounts of scattered pitting.
