Northwest Columbia River heavy wood burl hammer with an etched whale motif on tip possibly used to tap a jade adze. There are indentations on both sides butt end either from pounding or hand hold. Wood is heavy and almost fossilized. 9 1/2" x 2 1/4" large end.
